Client Objectives
Thompson Hotels had limited office space within its flagship hotel in Soho for their CFO and finance department and sought our expertise in locating nearby space. Although their image is associated with high-end modern design, their appreciation for Soho architecture and older loft-style buildings became the focus.
The Result
After evaluating Soho properties, Thompson Hotels found substantial rent reductions in properties by crossing the Soho border into Hudson Square. 100 Vandam Street was built in 1910 and was recently renovated with a glass and white marble lobby, glass entrance doors, restored façade and new building mechanicals. The space itself was flooded with light from the West along with having 12-foot rafted wood beams and timber columns. Thompson Hotels moved their finance department to a beautifully restored loft property just six blocks away from their flagship hotel while enjoying a 30% rent savings in Hudson Square.
